Magnum Pleasure Store SG

In the famous words from the music by Howard Johnson, Billy Moll and, Robert King: "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream".

Magnum Pleasure Store

That's what I'm talking about here! Magnum, the ice cream brand that's been around since 1989, and has since slid down the throats of many men and women alike. Hahaha. Get it? Because the store I'm blogging about is called "Magnum Pleasure Store"?  (If you're old enough, you'll get it)

OK. Moving on...

Located in ION Orchard, one of Singapore's largest shopping malls, in Basement 2, is this sweet little ice cream shop that allows you to customize your Magnum ice cream to suit your own tastes and creativity.

To get there, take the train to Orchard MRT Station which is the North South Line in Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit. The shopping mall is located right above the station itself, so you shouldn't be getting lost.

Pleasure starts here.

So starting off, you pick three toppings of your choice. Now, there's quite a variety to choose from, ranging from stuff like, marshmallow bits, crushed Oreos, cookie crumbs, golden nuggets, and even Sea salt, and chili flakes for the adventurous gourmet.
Which I may add, chili and chocolate? They'll amplify each others' tastes, creating a rich and exciting new flavor in your mouth.
After picking your poison, they put it in a small cocktail shaker and evenly mix it up for you.

They're actually missing a rose petal topping here when I took this. (sorry folks)

Right after the lovely counter staff shakes it up for you, you pick a coating for your thick vanilla ice cream chunk on a stick, which is the base of all their products, you get to pick the wicked coating for your pleasure stick ice cream. The available selections are one of three.

  1. White Chocolate
  2. Milk Chocolate
  3. Dark Chocolate
Are you screaming for ice cream yet?

After the coating of your choice is done, they'll sprinkle the toppings you chose earlier, and you'll get to choose one of the above chocolate selections to drizzle over your creation, and once that's out of the way, the pièce de résistance; a tiny chocolate M to finish your creation!
This is where you go "ohhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh" whilst nodding your head slowly in approval.

Keep in mind that you'll have to wait about two minutes before starting to eat it, if you want to feel that chocolate gently crack under your teeth when you sink them in!
While waiting, you can take some insta-worthy  pictures in their cool little "ice cream booth" to show off your creation to the world.

My little baby. Which is now making it's way through my entrails.

They also have a selection of coffee if ice cream isn't your thing, or if you just want to chill with a cuppa in your hand.

I'm a bit of a coffee person, so I ended up wanting to try their Magnumccino ($6-$7 SGD).
Their coffee is a blend of roast from Liberty Coffee, which was, as I'm told, selected specially for their store. The foam of milk was done perfectly, and the coffee had a rather robust and nutty finish to it, which actually compliments the Ice cream that I had. The rim of the cup was also coated in a chocolate of your choice, which not only made it look really cool; it also gave a little interesting touch to the coffee.

I've heard that their M Signature Chocolate ($6 SGD) was quite good, but I ended up choosing the coffee instead. However, if you prefer your drinks sweet, or your coffee mild, avoid the coffee, as the blend in which they've been given is a little on the strong side.

Magnumccino ($6 hot $7 iced)

Overall, my experience was interesting and paying $8 SGD for an ice cream is something I'd only do once in a long while. But I'd say it was fun and you should give it a go, not to mention, the decor of the shop is amazingly elegant.

I hope you've found this post helpful and enjoyed the read! Until next time, stay frosty and, cheers!
